Sweden is no stranger to bringing us sharp, electronic pop music (The Knife, Miike Snow) and The Royal Concepts continue the trend with their self-titled debut EP. Let’s be honest, listening to The Royal Concepts will have you checking your iPod about 10 times to make sure you didn’t accidentally put on a Phoenix b-side album you never knew you had, but who cares? Their EP is five fun, kinetic songs awash with guitars, blistering synths and lyrics that idealistically address heartache, love and all that other mushy stuff that we can’t help but connect to.
